The New Temple

Today’s reading is from Matthew 24:15-19

Our key verse is found in Matthew 24 verse 15:  “So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),

I just want to pause and say, “thank God I am not going to be here.”  You will not be here if your in Christ!   We know the tribulation is after the rapture.   And if you do not believe in the rapture than we will work with you…  keep praying for you and  David Jeremiah says, “you will get it straightened out on the way up…”   But I do not see much evidence for the understanding that we will be here.  I love what the Bible says; there is no condemnation those who are in Christ.

The Bible says one will be left and one will be taken, Paul said we will meet him in the air…
Enoch walked with God and then God took him…
Elijah was taken without seeing death; all of these are glimpses of that glorious teaching of the rapture.

Look at the end of verse 15: “let the reader understand.” Why are we told to understand these things?  Because this is the message of Christ to you and to me, to all who came before us and to all who comes after us…

This is God's verdict and he has told us what the verdict is.  He has unraveled it for us he said you can know the future: here is the future!  Jesus has given us a clear and trustworthy saying about the future.   You will not get it from people in the new age, you will not get it from the psychics, or people who are into mediums, you cannot get it from crazy whacked out so-called preachers who set dates, but you can get it from the word of God.  Just as surely as Daniel's prophecy was fulfilled in the life of Antiochus Epiphanies, so his future prophecies about the coming Antichrist will also be fulfilled.

THE NEW TEMPLE

Now there is a question that comes to my mind, and others have asked it also.  How are sacrifices going to be stopped in the Jewish Temple when there is no Jewish Temple?    Many believe that the Temple should be where the Mosque of Omar sits today.  That is not Jewish, my friends that is Islamic!   In fact this Islamic Mosque is right on the spot where Herod's Temple was, and that, according to the Scripture, is where the Abomination of Desolation is supposed to take place. But how can it take place if there's no Temple there?

Not only do we have a problem of no temple?
But what about sacrifices?
There is a need for red heifer?

Not only is there a need for the Temple to appropriate sacrifices but there needs to be a Sanhedrin, a counsel, of Jewish leaders headed by the chief priests and rabbis.

During the time of Christ 71 members of the Sanhedrin were seated in a semicircle within a special chamber of the courtyard of the Temple.  There hasn't been a genuine Sanhedrin in Israel for nearly 1600 years.  This counsel is important.

Shortly after the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948 people in Israel have been trying to reinstate the Sanhedrin, many times they have failed.  Did you know in October of 2004 group of 71 rabbis and scholars formed themselves into a Sanhedrin?

They are intent to duplicate the religious tribunal, which governed during the time the 2nd  Temple. This Sanhedrin is still active today and meet very often.  They stand in opposition of the democratic government of Israel and they deplore the planned withdrawal from Gaza and other compromises.  The founders of this new Sanhedrin stress that they are merely trying to fulfill the mandatory biblical commandment because there is a constant Jewish presence in the land throughout the Bible. These leading rabbis maintain that only a proper ordained Sanhedrin can authenticate the Messiah when he comes.

The Sanhedrin has been meeting monthly for years now and one of the main topics that they discuss is the exact location of the original Temple. They do this in an effort and with a desire to rebuild the Temple to reestablish the monarchy that God had given.

Rabbi Richman a spokesperson for the Sanhedrin said this, “As all these things happen around us, the Sanhedrin is researching ways to renew the deepest roots of our faith–to renew Temple service, reunite Jewish legal tradition and inspire Jewish people to greatness. Our people have one path before us, and we will continue to march toward our destiny.”

I remember when I was in college, they brought in a guest archaeologist who spent his life work in Israel, he worked closely with some of the top rabbis in Israel, and he said in the late 1990s that he believed within 20 to 30 years Israel would make the declaration that the temple was going to be rebuilt beside the Dome of the Rock.

More than that I came across a very interesting video and it shows you an underground temple that the jews have built  as as a museum!  I will have a link in the blog notes and on my app.

Here's my question to you today:  Do you think a group of truly committed zealous Jews with the technology that we have today could rebuild the Temple in 3 years or less?  There's no question in my mind they could.   Or they already have it prepared and it will be a very easy transition.

Is this the new Temple?
